BOX DESIGN: The first method of securement we use is the design of the box itself.  We design the box to allow the least amount of movement and when necessary cutouts/grooves/or securement holes, among other custom requests, are implimented into the box design.

STRECH WRAP: Used as a minumum requirement for securement.  Normally used in conjunction with another method of securement.

STRAPPING: Can be made of steel, nylon, or other durabale material.  Used to secure products to their shipping containers and/or other products.  May require the use of corner protectors or other protective measures.

BOLTING: When it is prudent or necessary to do so, we can bolt the product to the base of the shipping container to help secure it from movement.

FOAM INSERTS/FOAM LINING: Foam inserts and foam lining help to secure the piece from moving inside of the box. These are especially useful for items that need extra padding in addition to securement.

BLOCKING AND BRACING: These are normally loose pieces of foam or lumber cut to specified lengths that are used to block the piece in after being put into the box.  Blocking and bracing also applied to dunnage inside a shipping container such as an ocean frieght container.

DUNNAGE: Dunnage is defined by the IPPC in ISPM 5 (glossary of terms) as “Wood Packing Material used to secure or support a commodity but which does not remain associated with the commodity”.  Dunnage is the term used when blocking and bracing Ocean containers but can also apply to blocking in other shipping containers.  ISPM 15 regulations apply to Dunnage as well as other export wood and EEPAC has been issued the Dunnage stamp from our inspection agency.  Click here for more information on ISPM 15.
